ONCE THROUGH STEAM GENERATORS

BYIS has built well over one thousand steam generators that are customized to each client's requirement to suit the need of the site. As a part of a continuous improvement effort, we draw on the performances of the equipment in the field to check and verify the design practices. BYIS designs and constructs to ASME Code, as well as additional compliance to ANSI, NEC, AWS and NFPA.

We design each unit based on:

  • Site Data such as elevation and average temperature

  • Environmental Requirements such as NOx and CO

  • Fuel Analysis - natural gas, diesel, heavy oil, casing gas, btu content, pressure

  • Water Analysis

A sampling of the different designs is as follows:

  • Once through steam generators for mining and oil recovery

  • Steam Super Heaters

  • Acetic Acid Pyrolysis

  • Propane Cracking Furnaces

  • Titanium Tetrachloride Vaporizers and Super Heaters

  • H2S Incinerators

  • Crude Oil Heaters

  • Coker Feed Heating

Applications:

  • Huff and Puff (Cyclic Steam Stimulation): A method in which steam is injected into a heavy oil reservoir, after which a soaking phase enables the steam to diffuse through the reservoir and the heat lowers the viscosity of the oil so that it can be easily pumped to the surface.

  • Steam Drive: A combined method in which some wells are used as steam injection wells and other wells are used for oil production. Two mechanisms are at work to improve the amount of oil recovered. The first is to heat the oil to higher temperatures and to thereby decrease its viscosity so that it more easily flows through the formation toward the production wells. A second mechanism is the physical displacement employing in a manner similar to water flooding, in which oil is meant to be pushed to the production wells.

  • SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage): An advanced form of steam stimulation in which a pair of horizontal wells are drilled into the oil reservoir, one a few meters above the other. High pressure steam is continuously injected into the upper wellbore to heat the oil and reduce its viscosity, causing the heated oil to drain into the lower wellbore, where it is pumped out.

Each steam generator is designed to meet your requirements
  • Conventional design sizes
  • Steam quality to inject
  • Pressure and size of system
  • The OH-70 and OH-85 models are split flow path in both the radiant and convection sections and feedwater, and blower motors are Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). These models are generally on the same frame size as the OH-50 but slightly longer. The OH-70 Radiant Section has a slightly larger diameter.
